Merry Christmas!!

Well in just two more sleeps, Chrismtas 2008 will be upon us. It's been an interesting year to say the least. Our shopping is done and all wrapped. I have a few things to pick up tomorrow..fresh mushrooms, maybe a few more spirits :) and it'll feel really good to have a few days off. Tomorrow it'll be an 8 - 4 shift, and hopefully any crappy weather will hold off until i'm home.

I'm excited to see the kids faces..I know they'll love what they got!!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

A Winter Wonderland......

Our deck was completely cleaned off at 11:30 this morning, and this is how much has fallen in 3 hours. Nuts I tell ya!!! It's still snowing and from what the news says we are in for another storm to hit Saturday sometime and Sunday...sure makes it hard for people who still need to get things done for Christmas!

Such a cute Christmas elf....

Too bad I couldn't get my son to pose for pictures as well LOL I guess that's what being 16 is all about!

So, the results...

of the doctors appoint on Thursday are..................MRI

Hopefully this isn't going to take months to get done...The requesition as been sent to two hospitals, so with any luck our appointment won't be too long away

We have also made appointments with our own doctor to continue with. Sean is now pushing himself to do things because the pain is pretty much constant...so it doesn't matter whether he's sitting watching TV, cooking dinner or shovelling snow (although that one he has been told NOT to do by me....)

2008 started out really crappy, and it's proving to be ending in the same way, so i'm all for 2009....bring it on...and with it bring some good luck!!!

It's so cold...

so hard to believe that it's just the first of December...and it's so cold out :(

So,what's up for this weekend. Grocery shopping is likely are big outing..not exciting at all LOL
Next weekend, I plan to finish up the Christmas shopping. I need to make a list of everything we need to get..and just get it done. It'll feel good to get it done.

We also need to get our tree...not sure when that's going to happen...likely next weekend as well. Only 19 days until the BIG day...before we know it , it'll be 2009

Sean goes back to the doctor on the 11th...we'll hopefully find out then what the next step is. He's still in pain, so according to the doctor at the last visit, if he was still in pain, he would send him for an MRI. Sean is getting very discouraged with being off work this long and with being still in pain...but we are taking each day as it comes

Have a great weekend!

Christmas shopping...

is half done..YIPPEE :)

Sean and I went out today, and are pretty much half done. We got the 'big' gifts for each kid...so the rest is a piece of cake. Each year we get them one gift that's something they really want/need and that costs quite a bit. The rest are fillers so to speak. We were able to get both Jesse and Reece's big one...so that's a weight lifted. With Sean's back, he was pretty sore not long after we ventured out...but he persaveered. Now i just have to make a list of what else we need to get and get it...hopefully next weekend :) It'll feel good to be done completely!

It's starting to snow, we are supposed to get a wicked winter storm tonight and tomorrow, so lets hope LOL I want a snow day too

Have a good one

Christmas Spirit!!

Kirsten posted this at compuproscrapbooking.com and I loved it so, thought I would share here. Have a kleenex handy!

A Christmas Story

It's just a small, white envelope stuck among the branches of our Christmas tree. No name, no identification, no inscription. It has peeked through the branches of our tree for the past 10 years or so. It all began because my husband Mike hated Christmas---oh, not the true meaning of Christmas, but the commercial aspects of it- overspending... the frantic running around at the last minute to get a tie for Uncle Harry and the dusting powder for Grandma---the gifts given in desperation because you couldn't think of anything else. Knowing he felt this way, I decided one year to bypass the usual shirts, sweaters, ties and so forth. I reached for something special just for Mike. The inspiration came in an unusual way. Our son Kevin, who was 12 that year, was wrestling at the junior level at the school he attended; and shortly before Christmas, there was a non-league match against a team sponsored by an inner-city church, mostly black. These youngsters, dressed in sneakers so ragged that shoestrings seemed to be the only thing holding them together, presented a sharp contrast to our boys in their spiffy blue and gold uniforms and sparkling new wrestling shoes. As the match began, I was alarmed to see that the other team was wrestling without headgear, a kind of light helmet designed to protect a wrestler's ears. It was a luxury the ragtag team obviously could not afford. Well, we ended up walloping them. We took every weight class. And as each of their boys got up from the mat, he swaggered around in his tatters with false bravado, a kind of street pride that couldn't acknowledge defeat. Mike, seated beside me, shook his head sadly, "I wish just one of them could have won," he said. "They have a lot of potential, but losing like this could take the heart right out of them." Mike loved kids-all kids-and he knew them, having coached little league football, baseball and lacrosse. That's when the idea for his present came. That afternoon, I went to a local sporting goods store and bought an assortment of wrestling headgear and shoes and sent them anonymously to the inner-city church. On Christmas Eve, I placed the envelope on the tree, the note inside telling Mike what I had done and that this was his gift from me. His smile was the brightest thing about Christmas that year and in succeeding years. For each Christmas, I followed the tradition- one year sending a group of mentally handicapped youngsters to a hockey game, another year a check to a pair of elderly brothers whose home had burned to the ground the week before Christmas, and on and on. The envelope became the highlight of our Christmas. It was always the last thing opened on Christmas morning and our children, ignoring their new toys, would stand with wide-eyed anticipation as their dad lifted the envelope from the tree to reveal its contents. As the children grew, the toys gave way to more practical presents, but the envelope never lost its allure. The story doesn't end there. You see, we lost Mike last year due to dreaded cancer. When Christmas rolled around, I was still so wrapped in grief that I barely got the tree up. But Christmas Eve found me placing an envelope on the tree, and in the morning, it was joined by three more. Each of our children, unbeknownst to the others, had placed an envelope on the tree for their dad. The tradition has grown and someday will expand even further with our grandchildren standing around the tree with wide-eyed anticipation watching as their fathers take down the envelope. Mike's spirit, like the Christmas spirit, will always be with us. May we all remember Christ, who is the reason for the season, and the true Christmas spirit this year and always. God bless---pass this along to your friends and loved ones

I'm so blog lazy...

but that's going to change. I seem to be spreading myself too thin when it comes to scrapbook forums. I guess i've been trying to find my 'home' on the web...so to do that, I need to try them all LOL I will be downsizing my participation in a few , and concentrating on a few others...hope to see you there!!

Making progress

Sean is making some progress. He is no longer using the walker or crutches so he's getting around quite nicely on his own. We even went out for dinner last night with friends..he loved getting out of the house. We have an appointment with the doctor this Thursday.

I have some 3x3 cards I need to get done for a swap I joined. I joined the swap a couple of days before Sean's accident...and I've barely scrapped since..must get my butt in gear.

Have I ever mentioned, I hate winter :( It's supposed to warm up later in the week, thank goodness. I know it's coming, but man I do not like the snow. I don't like driving in it at all. I need to check my lotto tickets...I'd like winter if I didn't have to work and owned a snowmobile LOL

Have a great night!

Do you ever wonder.....

What happens to people you 'meet' online? Of course, I belong to quite a few scrapbook sites and I think I have quite a few friends that i've met on them. Most of us met on one certain site, but the site has went through some bumps and grinds and ownership changes etc this year...to which most of the members left :( Now, I can understand it was pretty frustrating for a while, but is there no loyality. I guess it's just a different way of thinking. I like to visit all the sites I have friends at and I guess I just don't get how people can be quite active one minute then completely disappear and have nothing to do with that site anymore.

Not sure why this is bugging me today but thought i'd ramble on and get this off my chest. Seems if I want to keep my 'friends' I have to chase them all over the internet to the new sites they've decided to call home which I guess ticks me off a wee bit. I suppose I take things to heart too much and need to just realize they are more of aquaintences then friends'

Ok, done rambling...off to get something accomplished today

Here is what recovery looks like when you have broken your back and a rib LOL

Laptop, a beer , pj pants and a Lay-z-Boy....recovery made easy!

One step forward, 12 steps back

Well, Monday evening, Sean was doing pretty good with his mobility when he went into the bathroom. He was using crutches instead of the walker which for a few days has been pretty good. He was coming out, when he tripped somehow and went down on our hardwood floor. The pain I saw him in was so hard to see. Jesse and I managed to get him up and onto the walker and into bed. He laid in bed from 9:30 Monday night until 5:30 Tuesday night. (ok, I did help him up to use the washroom before I went to work) but his back was so sore. Once I got home from work, I helped him get up and into the lazy boy in the livingroom. He was still pretty tender but refused to go back to the hospital.

Today is better. I got him up this morning before I left. He seems to be better tonight too...the pain is not near as bad as it was....thank goodness. Back injuries can be so scary.

So, we've just been relaxing so far this week...not really doing a whole lot. I did manage to finish a layout, but can't upload it here yet, as it was for a layout tag on a site that although i'm not sure, maybe some of the members visit my blog...so I'd hate to blow the suprise

Have a great evening!

Reece's Hallowe'en costumes

Reece decided to be a 'die' for Hallowe'en this year. She used the pirate costume at school. It was much easier to dance in then the box. She got alot of comments on her costume while out trick or treating Friday night!! I can't wait to do the layout for these pictures!

Saturday Night...

and i'm sitting here with my hubby watchng the leaf game. He's doing much better, able to get around better then a week ago, that's for sure. I need to get my routine back. I always have my computer open and surf the sites while I scrap, and since the accident, I have brought my computer out to the livingroom to give Sean something else to do during the week besides watch TV. There are so many layouts I want to do...so I need to get back to it.

My good friends dad passed on this week. It was the girl we went to Mexico with. He has had lung cancer, diagnosed in March of 2007 but it was still as shock. No one was expecting it. His wife had taken him to the hospital, because he wouldn't eat or drink, and she was afraid he would dehydrate...so they sat in emerg from 10am Monday morning, until his death. He was talking, and laughing with the nurses and his wife, as they discussed how the experimental drug he was on was working (it was proven to have shrunkt he lung tumors, but his cancer had spread, so while he knew it wouldn't cure him, he was hoping it would help others) when all of a sudden, he bled out :( Something had burst inside him, and within 45 seconds he was gone.

Don't take things for granted, it can change in the blink of an eye!

Home from the hospital

I was able to bring Sean home on Friday aftenroon from the hospital. Because the two vertebrae's in his back are what they call 'stable fractures' there is nothing they can do in the hospital. It's a matter of 'time heals all wounds' . I was able to borrow a walker for him, which helps immensely with his mobility and thank goodness our house is all on one level and an open concept :) He needs to rest and do nothing for at least two weeks. That is going to be tough, Sean is an active guy...he doesn't enjoy sitting and watching tv all day long...but he's going to have to like it for the time being. We need to go see the surgeon in 3 weeks for re-assessment so until then....i'm playing Nurse 'T' and taking care of my husband.

A scary day yesterday...

I was at work , when around 11am I got a call from my Sean. He asked me if I was busy, and if I could come home. When I asked why, his answer was 'I fell off the roof' OMG, my heart sank. I immediately left work, and raced home (thank goodness no police where anywhere around) When I got there he was still lying on the deck. Seems he was coming off the roof when he stepped on the ladders first rung and it gave way and fell down, with Sean falling on top of the ladder. He managed to crawl over into the sunlight and a dry spot (the deck was covered in snow) but couldn't get any further as the terrace door was locked. I opened the door and he managed to crawl on all 4's to the livingroom floor, but the pain was excrutiating :(
I called 911 and the ambulance came, and took him to the hospital. After about 5 hours we were told he had broken his back and a rib. The back fracture was a stable one, meaning it wasn't broke right through so they won't operate at this point. In a couple of days they are going to re-xray everything and hopefully it'll be the same. If so, they say it should heal nicely on it's own.

My heart just breaks when I see him in that much pain, I would give anything to be able to take it away from him.

Hug those that are close to you, things can change is such a quick moment :)

Woohoo, I won!!!

I participated in an online crop at http://www.scrapshotz.com/ this past weekend. There was a random draw for American Crafts cardstock and I WON!!! 25 sheets of two different sizes...how freakin cool is that! Here are 3 of the layouts I completed for the crop :) TFL

I can't believe it....

Snow on October 21/2008...way to early, and I know it won't stay (although we said that last year when it showed up in November). It's supposed to warm up tomorrow and the rest of the week so lets hope. As I type this, it's still snowing. Thank goodness for log houses...they stay pretty warm, and we just turned the furnace on during last weekend. We have our first load of furnace oil coming tomorrow....that's one bill i'm not looking forward to!! Sure makes the reality of Christmas only being 65 days away seem a lot closer!!!

So, here is the layout...

I just mentioned. I love how it turned out

Happy Thanksgiving :)

Hope everyone was (in Canada ) was able to have some turkey and stuffing and good times this holiday weekend. Sean , Reece and I went to a friends campsite for Thanksgiving dinner. It was awesome! We all brought something..Dayle's mom brought the turkey , stuffing and gravy. YUM is all I can say! It was so tastey and there is something to be said for enjoying a turkey dinner while sitting among trees on a picnic table with a river running behind us. The salmon were spawning and while we ate we could hear the splashing of the fish! After dinner we sat around a bon fire which was sooo much fun! Lots of laughter and stories told, which is how I think every holiday should be celebrated. I did take a few pics, but with my film SLR so I'll upload a few when I get the film developed.

I'm almost done a layout...I haven't done one for over a week...just too many things on the go I suppose. I'm actually quite pleased with this one and will upload as soon as i'm done.

Have a great holiday Monday for those of you that are celebrating :)

ok sooooo

I've been thinking about this being thankful thing, and I honestly think i'm thankful for the same things each day. Of course there are little things and maybe I don't think these things are nearly as relevent as the big things (like thankfull I made it to the gas station, seems silly...it's my fault if I don't...kwim? )

I don't take my family or my life for granted...I learned a long time ago, after a very bad first marriage to live each day to the fullest, you never know when it'll be your last. When people say 'How are you' they are expecting the usual 'fine and you' response, from me they get 'Wonderful and you? '

If you wake up in the morning, it's a good day!!

Being Thankful

My friend Tracey issued a challenge on http://www.compuproscrapbooking.com/ to record the things that you are thankful for all day. I thought it would be fun to record this here on my blog.

Today (October 3, 2008) I am thankful for:

Having a job (even if I don't particularly like it)
My kids, my husband and my health
Having a beautiful home to live in
Friends that are there to laugh with and spend time with

Sometimes we take the people and things we have in our life for granted. I think this little challenge will help us to see that nothing or no one should be taken for granted. We all know life is just way too short to not appreciate those things that we have :)

My first holiday layout

This layout was done for a challenge at Lovebugscrapbooking.com. The challenge was to use at least 7 photo's. These pictures are of our para sailing adventure in Mexico. I am quite pleased with how it turned out!!!

Hermoso Hombre

means 'Beautiful Man' and while in Mexico we met
a Spanish couple. The woman said this and proceeded to
snap a picture of Sean. There was another couple there
who interpreted for the Spanish couple. When I asked what
she said, the girl told me this "she says your husband is a beautiful man
and has the same colouring (dark hair, skin etc) as the men in Spain and
she wanted a picture to take home to her friends" I wish I had of snapped
a picture of her husband...he wasn't bad to look at either!!!

A funny story I wanted to share!!

When we were in Mexico...we went into the town of Playa Del Carmen. While there we found a little bar on the beach and decided to enjoy a couple of cerveza's (beers). After a bit, both Dayle and I had to use the 'little girls room' so we asked our waiter. He pointed to the beach and say 'Playa' meaning beach...use the beach (the water) We both laughed, then he laughed and pointed towards a building up and around the corner. So, off Dayle and I go only to discover the 'womens' washroom had no toilet seat, no toilet paper and no door...not even one leading outside...(where is the OMG smilie when you need him ) so..we both sort of looked at each other when Dayle said 'you stand guard'...I mean honestly what choice did we have. SO, thatI did and she for me. Let me just say..'drip dry' We have never laughed so much in a long time. SO, we go back to the table, look at the waiter and say 'Yes, next time the Playa' LMAO ( just kidding)
Another funny point...the mens washroom HAD toilet paper!!! Go figure

Mexico...is so beautiful

So, since posting pics I should maybe just tell you a bit about our trip. We had to be at our airport at 3am...sounds bad but really it wasn't. Likely because we were so excited to be going and couldn't actually believe we were!. We boarded the plane and flew out of Toronto at 6:15am on Saturday September 13th. We arrived in Cancun, Mexico at 9:40am (our time) so I quickly switched my watch to Mexico time...which was 10:40am. Once we cleared customs grabbed our bags and boarded the bus...we were very very hot! It was a 45 minute drive to our resort from the airport. We checked in, got our rooms , changed and headed to the beach! We were enjoying the beautiful views by 1pm that day. It was amazing and so relaxing. Something both Sean and I have needed for a long long time.

There was a great breeze coming off the water, it felt great but was tough on my hair, so my girlfriend and I found a guy to braid our hair for us quickly. Hard to believe but it only took him an hour to do each of us. We both have long hair...so that was cool. Neither of us wanted to sit there for a really long time :)

We left the beach and went for a swim in the pool...which felt like bath water...omg, it was so nice. It was almost dinner time, so we went to change and hit one of the buffets for a nice easy meal. The food selection was awesome!!!

We pretty much spent the next few days relaxing by the pool, having a few interesting drinks LOL and enjoying the great food. Sean and I needed a break from 'everyday life' so our goal was not to be off on excursions every day, besides they can get quite expensive.

Monday we had reservations at the Italian restaurant, Tuesday was Japenese and Wednesday was International. They were all pretty good...it's good to try new things, even if you don't like them LOL

Thursday we rented a cab and went into town 'Playa Del Carmen' for the day. Man, it almost felt hotter there then at the resort!! Sean and I wanted to get the kids a couple souvenirs so this was the spot. We enjoyed a few beers on the beach ($2.00 each! ) and at the local 'hot spot' Senore Frogs ($5.00 each for beer there) It was so hot, we stopped at a store , bought a 6 pack of Coors Light and walked up the street drinking it (yes, this is allowed LOL ) while looking at the sites.

We stayed a few hours, then rented a cab to take us back to the resort. Both cab drivers were very funny, and had us all laughing hysterically. They drive so close to other vehicles and people...it's a little freaky!

When we got back to the resort, we headed to the pool to start a celebration for Dayle's 40th birthday. We didn't really want to celebrate on Friday (her actual birthday) because we were leaving the next morning, and no one wanted to get on a plane hungover LOL

The bartenders were quite willing to continue to make us tequila shooters of all different flavours. We even made friends with a couple from Spain. They didn't speak english and we didn't speak very much spanish, but we seem to understand each other quite well...as we sat at the pool bar for quite some time.

I decided we had better go for dinner to get something to eat. By this time, we were all feeling pretty good LOL so off we went. By the time we were done eating and heading back toward the rooms, it was time for a sleep...but we had so much fun and there was a lot of giggling and laughing happening.

Friday Sean and I felt great but Dayle and Kevin were a little ...ummm...hungover so they were not indulging in the 'free drinks' aspect of the holiday. We wanted to go para-sailing today, so around noon we headed down to the beach, paid $55.00 each to go up for aprox 20 minutes and had the most fabulous time ever! Sean is not a big fan of heights and even he loved it. It was amazing to see the views of the resort and the beach and sea from that high up. We are so glad we did it. We spent the rest of the day at the pool...relaxing and swimming.

We had to check out of our rooms on Saturday the 20th at 5am..but that was ok...it was time to come home. Both Sean and I had to stop talking about our kids, tears were forming in our eyes~
We arrived back in Toronto at about 2:30 or so...then headed home.

We dropped Kevin and Dayle off at home, then headed to pick Reece up at Mom's. Mom made enough dinner for us too, so we stayed. Go figure...she had fahita's LOL

We had the best time we've had in a long time. This year has been trying to say the least...so this was needed greatly. Sean and I have never been away together in the 14 years we've been together....and we are definetly planning the next one already!!!!!

Hello

Well, it's almost time...in two days i'll be on the plane...just a couple hours away from a much needed holiday. Yeah, I know...everyone is sick of hearing about it..but I can't help but be excited. I'm really excited for the pictures i'm hoping to take too. All arrangements are made with regards to Reece going to Mom's and walking to school etc. Jesse is staying with his dad, against my better judgement but he really didn't want to stay with Grandma :)

well, i'm off to work, then it's wing night at the pub...see you later!

I can't wait to take lots of pictures..I have a few in mind. I want a picture of just Sean and my feet in the sand..wouldn't that make an awesome layout?

OK, off I go..almost bedtime.

Enjoy the night :)

What's up ??

I sure need a routine when it comes to blogging..oh well...I shall keep trying

Only 16 more days until our trip, OMG i'm so excited. I can't wait to walk on the beach, a real tropical beach. I have developed a nice tan...but it still needs a wee boost!

I haven't been scrappin quite as much. I don't think I lost mojo so much as I've just been too busy to bother.

Dad turned 65 on the 16th of August. We got together last weekend and had a family dinner for him. I'll post a couple of pics soon

And a few more!!!

TGIF

Here are a couple layouts i've done....

Yay, the weekend is here...although this one is going to be a busy one. We are having friends over for dinner tonight, then tomorrow my brother and his family are coming to stay the weekend. My niece has a soccer game close by which will be fun to watch. They live about 2 1/2 hours away, which doesn't seem far but in reality it is, and the weekends just seem so busy

I've been scrappin, which is good. So far in August I think i've done 17 layouts. I actually feel like I'm finally making progress on my old pics :)
Ok, i'm off....gotta get this work day over with :)

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

Holy moly, i'm such a slacker

So, August has been pretty productive so far for scrappin...i'm impressed!
Wow, I can't believe how many days pass between my posts. I have such good intentions..but it just never seems to work out.

So, August has turned out to be productive in the scrappin sense. I have done 5 or 6 layouts so far. Working on another one tonight too...I love when I get lots done. I talked to a friend today, that agreed to letting me put flyers in her store, for custom made cards and scrapbooks. I'm a little nervous, but the extra cash would be nice.

Have a super night!!

Monday Morning...work work work

So, we had a productive weekend I think . We moved the kids computer downstairs, re-arranged our living room, did some small jobs that have been waiting for a while. Sean was able to get the truck fixed...the compressor for the air suspension system quit...we had only purchased it last October from Florida, so the defective one is on it's way back this morning. As long as they deem it'defective' i'll get my money back...cross your fingers...it was over $200

We have chosen a tub for our bathroom reno...and our local hardware store is giving us a deal on it :) which is always good.

Only 47 days until our trip...Sean and I are so excited...we feel like a couple of little kids Christmas morning LOL

well, getting ready for work, so I must go...back soon!

Rainy Sunday!

Woke up to rain, not heavy but steady...a good rain to water everything without destroying it

We went to friends last night for a few drinks...same friends we are going to Mexico with. The air bag suspension on our truck isn't working properly :( which is not a good thing. Not really sure what's wrong, but it's our only vehicle, which isn't a good thing. We were supposed to go grocery shopping so we'll see

Yesterday, after Reece and I got our rooms cleaned and organized, Sean headed to our main bathroom. It only has a spa tub, but no shower. We want to overhaul it, putting the shower in there. The shower right now is in our small bathroom in our bedroom. Since nothing seemed to be done right, we pulled the tub right out and sure enough, not put in properly. It wasn't braced right or insulated right. We aren't sure if we'll go with a spa tub...I'd love a claw tub! We need to price out tubs and check sizes. We might end up just putting the old tub back in for now. We are gonig to put a new floor in...it's wood right now but we are thinking ceramic tile maybe.

Anyhoot....hopefully Sean will figure out what's up with the truck...and hopefully it won't cost a fortune to fix :(

Have a great day!

Happy Saturday!

Just hanging out today, doing some cleaning, re-arranging of things in the house. Dh is helping me organize my scrap room, putting up some shelves etc...so while he's working, i'm surfing

Not alot planned for this weekend, grocery shopping which is good...makes the weekend go a bit slower when we relax!

Sean and I started going to a tanning salon...to get a bit of a tan before Mexico. I just have this thing about being stark white on a beach down south! (yeah, I know they say they aren't good for you, but neither is the sun... )

I took the most awesome pictures of a rainbow last night..it was a complete from one side to the other rainbow, so I have to see if I can stitch the pics together..I couldn't get back far enough to get the entire thing in one pic

Have a great day!!

Good Morning

Scrapped a few layouts lately, not as many as I'd like...but I've been spending more time with Sean and the kids instead of in my scraproom!

Here are a couple i've done
Reece scored her first goal in soccer last night...she had so many chances, then boom...one finally went in!!!!! The coach asked if we'd let her play on an all girls travelling team next year...OF COURSE!!!! He's only asking the 'good' players, so we were honoured!!
Off to work, later :)

Good Bye Blue Spruce

Here are a couple of shots of the tree, before and after. It's sad, but had to be done..it was so crowded and unhealthy. We do plan to plant a couple other smaller cedars in that spot.

ahhh....One more day of work to go

Well, the visitation was nice last night. Got a few hugs which is always good ....and nothing really had to be said. I feel really bad for Jim, her husband. He's been through so much in the last year since her diagnosis...i'm sure he'll be fine.

Reece had soccer tonight and OMG...she had a breakaway, nothing between her and the net but the goalie...she took the shot...and poof...not enough strength...SOOOOOO close to her first goal this year!!

Off to bed shortly, have to pick Sean up at 1am...and I will likely keep the truck to pick him up tomorrow night too. Jesse will need a ride home, and now since the ex's wife is being a &%$W( Jesse is no longer asking him for rides. Pretty sad really.

I have a layout I have to get done for a contest bonus...I have so many ideas...I must get them to paper. The deadline is Sunday, so i'm sure i'll be fine. Once I decide on pictures.

I think Sean and I might go shopping on Sunday , for a few new things for our trip :) I really don't have any 'nice' summer clothes. I don't even own a pair of capri's :( I told my friend last night, it's from years of working in a feed mill, you don't need nice clothes. BUT i'm changing that. I would love a nice sun dress..maybe even a couple skirts (WHAT!!!!!!) I've never wore skirts and dresses much, unless it was a wedding LOL I want to get a nice office job, so maybe if I change my overall appearance, it'll bring good luck!!!

Anyhoot...must run...bed time

Back soon :)

Sad evening :(

I am off to the funeral home to pay respects to a long time family friend. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year ago, and it got the best of her on Sunday. I wish I knew what to say...'I'm Sorry' just seems corny at this point. I wish I didn't feel so uncomfortable at these but not much I can do about it I suppose

I tried to upload some photo's and layouts but the dial up connection I have is so aggravating...I'll try later :)

Happy July

I'm off to work, after having 5 days off. Man, it's tough to get up with that alarm. Tonight is wing night at the pub...can't wait!!!!

9 more weeks until we leave for Mexico..the only downside is that summer will be over when we leave, so I am not wishing for that, but I'm so excited!!!! I can't wait to take tons of pictures...who knows when we'll get to go away again

We've had some awesome weather the last couple of days....it's rainng today though, but the weekend is supposed to be amazing ...so that's a bonus!

I need to upload a few pics I took of the Jesse and Reece on the trampoline...it was so hot they put the sprinkler underneath it.

Ok, must run...have a super wonderful day!

Here are the rings...

The one closes to my finger tip is the 5th year anniversary ring, and the one closest to my wrist is the 10th year ring. OMG, I just love this set...(I did before, but more now LOL ) Sean says that's it until our 25th (but I doubt it LOL )

Well, off to work :)

3 more days

Just 3 more days until I get my rings back...I really miss them LOL and I can't wait to see what the new one looks like!!!!

Reece has soccer tonight, hope they win. This is the 4th game and they haven't won yet, but they have tied one...so hopefully.

I finally did two layouts this past week...hopefully that'll be the start of some serious scrapping again. I'm not sure what happened, I was doing so good...but for some reason I just haven't been scrappin...although I have done a few cards

My good friend Peggy is heading into surgery, and i'm hoping all goes well....hugs to you my friend...soon you'll be good as new!

ok, so I must go and get some work done...

Monday, June 16, 2008

Wow, i'm such a slacker

I so need to get more consistant with this blog..I have so much I'd like to post, but end up forgetting. It would be so much easier with high speed, but since it looks like dial up will be in my life for quite some time, I should just quit whining about it and get over it LOL

Ok, so since booking the trip...I have decided to get into 'look good for the trip' mode...and trim down. Not that i'm hugely overweight...but I do need to trim and tone a bit. I've started walking during my lunch hour and eating more salads. So far i'm down 8lbs...what are the odds of doing that for the next few weeks!!!

I also know tanning beds aren't really that good for you but neither is the sun and I figure a few times won't kill me right??? So I think in August i'm going to go for the very first time ever and get a base tan so I don't look like an albino on the beach in Mexico

Since i'm at work typing this and not doing my work and the boss should be in shortly, i must go...

back soon!

Naked Finger!!

5 years ago, Sean bought me an anniversary ring. It was actually custom made to fit around my wedding set. Well yesterday we went back to the jeweller and he's buying me another custom made ring for our 10th anniversary. Unfortunately I had to leave my entire set with them..and now I have a naked finger LOL...feels very wierd. They are saying two weeks, but there is a possibility that it'll be ready next weekend...so my naked fingers are crossed

So Excited!!!

SO, every since Sean and I got together, we buy two cards for each other for every occasion...one silly one and one very sincere one...This year, we both ended up buying the exact same silly one...that has never happened before. I just started to giggle when I opened it.

We went out for the day shopping, and really not doing much. Reece had a pa day from school so it was the 3 of us. We went out for dinner and then on the way home, decided to stop in at a friends for a visit. I knew they had booked a trip to Mexico for September to celebrate her 40th birthday. Well, Sean and I have been talking about going for quite a while...we got on the internet and next thing you know....we have also booked a week away with our friends. So 10 years after we get married, we are actually getting our very first 'real' trip.
